The Clink of Ice

The Clink of Ice

A gentleman views the 1930 Lawren Harris painting Icebergs, Davis Strait at the Art Gallery of Ontario during the Idea of North exhibition.  In this work, Harris uses icebergs to try and create an ideal form.  He simplifies the various colours down to hues of green and blue and places the forms against the resonating grey-blue space of sky so they may stand out in sharp contrast.  Icebergs, Davis Strait is part of the McMichael Canadian Art Collection.
