An outlandish lady at the Art Gallery of Ontario admires Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night Over the Rhone. Van Gogh painted the scene in the Autumn of 1888 at a spot on the river bank in Arles. He worked quickly under a gas street lamp to capture the scene at night. A few months after painting this work, Van Gogh suffered the mental breakdown in which he would famously cut his ear off on Christmas Eve. Starry Night over the Rhone hangs in the Musée d'Orsay in Paris and was on lone to the AGO for the Mystical Landscapes exhibition.
