Into the Corner Store
A woman visiting the Art Gallery of Ontario admires the 1912 Lawren Harris painting The Corner Store. Harris appreciated the simplicity of the structure of this building that housed a local grocery store and how it contrasted with the complicated and erratic patterns of the shadows cast by the trees on the shop’s frontage.
